The Kingfisher Golf Association continues to provide for local charities and service groups.

The association recently presented checks to two groups that provide food for those in need.

Checks of $2,000 were presented to the Kingfisher County Food Bank and to Kingfisher County Meals on Wheels.

The funds were raised in part from the association’s annual benefit tournament held in early May.

It’s the eighth annual event for the KGA.

All proceeds from the tournament go to the designated charities.

On top of that, the KGA chipped in an additional $1,200.

To date, the benefit tournaments have raised nearly $70,000 for various causes. “What makes the tournament great is everyone wins,” said the KGA’s Gary Wilson.

“The people who sign up get to play 18 holes of golf with a lot of other good people, everyone gets to have a great time and we’re all supporting great causes.”

Representing Meals on Wheels at the presentation were Lou Barrick and Carla Henderson.

Danica Kramer was on hand for the Kingfisher County Food Bank.

Among those representing the KGA were Wilson, Chad Burnham and Terry Niles.

Other board members include Bill Loyall, Quinton Cline, Derrick Wolf, Bob Bollenbach, Ron Townsend, Reggie Redwine and Kent Weems.
