No bids received for annex repairs; engineer to pursue new agreement

By

Kingfisher County commissioners received no bids on a solicitation for labor and materials for repairs, cleaning and painting the exterior of the courthouse annex at their weekly meeting Tuesday.

Chairman Heath Dobrovolny directed County Engineer Nik Smith to pursue a new agreement.

They approved a number of right-of-way easements for utilities and pipelines, a public access drive for Paloma Resources and renewal of a detention services agreement with Craig County Detention services for juveniles on an as needed and space available basis, effective July 1.

A rate of $25 a day per child which the contract stated was less than 15% of the actual cost of detention, remains in effect.

Five permits for 12-inch steel gas lines for Markwest Energy received approval. They are located in an area beginning three miles south and two miles west of Kingfisher and extending to four miles south and three miles west of Kingfisher.

The Paloma Resources access drive, requiring a 100-foot by 20-inch culvert, will be located .39 mile west of the intersection of EW 770 Road and NS 2820 Road on the north side of EW 770.

Dobrovolny announced a meeting with county officers at 10:30 a.m. Monday and said he would attend a meeting of county fire chiefs Monday evening to discuss county purchasing procedures.

District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss and District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek joined Dobrovolny in making all actions unanimous. County Clerk Jeannie Boevers served as minute clerk.

John Storm and Nick Storm of Storm and Hauser P.C., accountants, attended the meeting.
