Reitz in at Kingfisher, Painter at Hennessey; 5 incumbents retain

By

There will be no school board races on upcoming ballots in Kingfisher County.

The filing period for open board of education seats ended Wednesday and only one candidate filed in each of the seven districts here.

Five of them were incumbents.

The two boards getting new members are Kingfisher and Hennessey.

Bill Reitz was the lone person to file in Kingfisher and will take the seat being vacated by Carly Franks, who didn’t file to run again after serving two terms.

In Hennessey, Lance Painter will claim the seat being left by outgoing President Patrick Griffin, who also chose not to run again.

The new members will take their seats in April 2025.

All seats are for five-year terms.

Incumbents who filed are:

• Chisholm Trail Technology Center: Rondi Andrews

• Cashion Public Schools: Jake McKeever

• Dover Public Schools: Larry Harviston

• Lomega Public Schools: Matt Oppel

• Okarche Public Schools: Robert Anderson
