No fair entries ready? Better get cracking, organizers say
If a looming deadline is just the thing to trigger your creative juices, this is your weekend to get busy on entries for the Kingfisher County Free Fair, which starts Wednesday.
You can begin submitting entries as early as 4-6 p.m. Wednesday for 4-H, FFA, HCE and open class categories at the fairgrounds Exhibit Building. Or if you’re more the last-minute type, you can stretch it to 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday to bring in your potential blue-ribbon winners.
Floriculture and flower exhibitors don’t submit their entries until 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday.
Judging for nonanimal exhibits begins at 10 a.m. Thursday and art and photography at 1 p.m. Flowers are judged at 11 a.m. Friday.
If you’re more of a spectator than a participant, this year’s fair has plenty of fun to offer, starting with the Wednesday evening pedal and tractor pull and Farmhand Olympics, cornhole and ax throwing Friday evening and livestock shows Thursday-Saturday.
See Wednesday’s paper for a full schedule of fair activities.
