No new burn ban after Monday’s rain, county says
After rain arrived on Kingfisher County Monday morning, Kingfisher County commissioners killed a meeting agenda item proposing a new county burn ban.
District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek made the motion to disapprove of the burn ban and District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss and District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny, chairman, joined in making the action unanimous.
Commissioners also struck down another agenda item Monday, one acting on an item to enact a bid for labor and materials to recycle multiple roads in Districts 1 and 2.
Dobrovolny said he had contacted the district attorney’s office and was told approving the item would make the county responsible for some work whether or not it was done.
Commissioners approved the following items:
• A contract with Tulsa County Juvenile Detention home on an as needed basis to house Kingfisher County underage detainees at a rate of $68.25 per day.
• A construction contract and notice to proceed for Glen’s Electric for a Kingfisher County Courthouse security camera system.
• A scope of services and cost estimate with Pinnacle Consulting Management Group of Oklahoma City for right-of-way acquisition for the Robberts Avenue bridge over Uncle John Creek, District 1.
