ODWC commissioners to hold their September meeting at Cedar Gate
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation will hold its regularly-scheduled Commission meeting next week in Kingfi sher County.
The meeting is 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at The Cedar Gate, located on County Road N2740 west of Kingfi sher.
Commissioners will meet in the Event Legacy Barn.
The public is invited to attend.
The eight-member commission meets monthly.
Commissioners represent multiple counties within their district. Kingfisher County is part of District 6, which is represented by John P. Zelbst. Other counties within the district are Blaine, Canadian, Caddo, Grady, Comanche, Stephens, Jefferson and Cotton.
Zelbst is the managing partner at Zelbst, Holmes & Butler law firm that serves Oklahoma City, Lawton, Edmond and Norman.
He lives in Meers with his wife, Cindy, and is also actively involved in cattle operations on his U2 Ranch.
Commissioners are appointed by the governor and approved by the Senate.
Zelbst was appointed by Gov. Brad Henry in 2010 and re-appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin in 2018.
His current term expires in 2026.
