The OERB hosted a first responder training workshop at the OSU Fire Service Training Center in Stillwa-ter to educate firefighters about the best practices in developing a response plan for oil and natural gas sites.

Among those who attended were Hunter Clemmons and Dakota York of the Kingfisher Fire Department.

The two-day training was taught by oil and natural gas professionals and OSU Fire Service Training staff.

The course, which was provided at no cost to firefighters, mixes a classroom component and hands-on live burn exercises.

The training for the course also fulfills the requirements for Firefighter II certification.

This was the first workshop for the program.

The free training is funded by the people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas, also known as Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB).
