OHS yearbook staff awarded ‘gold’ achievement once again
Hard work pays off once again for the Okarche High School yearbook staff.
For two consecutive years, the staff has been awarded the gold level of the National Yearbook Program of Excellence.
The yearbook program placed at the gold level in 2020 and 2022 and at the bronze level in 2021.
To place at the gold level, a yearbook must excel in three areas of focus: all students included in the book (most at least three times), meeting every deadline and exceeding the previous year’s sales by at least 2%.
Jostens yearbook representative Dustin Kiersey informed the staff that Okarche is the only school to have won the gold award three separate times and this year Okarche is one of only two schools in Oklahoma to win the gold.
The 2023 yearbook staff included seniors Kylie Bailey, Jasmin Barcenas, Amanda Carranza, Madison Schaefer and Riley Black, along with juniors Kera Avilez, Rylie Bomhoff, Reagan Marler, Afton Shirey and Suzann Smith.
Advisors are Traci Fuller and Jessica Sumrall.
