Okarche’s Beth Schieber presented OSO Chapter Service Award
Beth Schieber, president of Beta Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, received the Oklahoma State Organization Chapter Service Award. Her chapter nominated her for this award, which she was presented at the OSO summer conference.
The Beta Beta Chapter of the Oklahoma State Organization and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International have been recognized for their strong women leaders, history, traditions and service.
Beta Beta Chapter was organized and received its charter on June 2, 1970. The members are women educators from Oklahoma, Kingfisher and Canadian counties.
They believe in supporting and collaborating to create innovative solutions, to strive for excellence, to serve in their community and to make a difference in teachers’ and students’ lives.
Chapter Service Nominations Committee chairs Kathleen Smith and Debbie Schimmer explain Beth’s nomination: “This highly- qualified leader, Beth Schieber, added her personal and professional strengths and extensive DKG experiences to our exemplary chapter. Within three years of her transfer, she became chapter president. Two years later, she stepped up as president again. Whatever the leadership needs, Beth is willing to serve.
“Beth, the quintessential DKG woman, has a heart and passion for serving at all levels of the Society - chapter, state and international. Her strengths include leadership, knowledge, experience, initiative, integrity, perseverance, effort and compassion. Whether OSO state president, southwest regional director, Leadership Management Seminar presenter, longtime editor of The LimeLighter (Oklahoma State Organization’s newsletter), or a member of the DKG International Educators Foundation Board of Directors, Beth Schieber is a woman who does all things well.
“Beth’s distinguished work ethic and enthusiastic devotion inspire and influence others within our chapter. Whatever the need, Beth is willing to do for the good of Beta Beta. Within our chapter, Beth has stepped up to serve as communications chair, webmaster, editor of the award-winning chapter newsletter, yearbook cochair, chapter rules chair, publicist, strategic action plan chair and many others. Much like the strong women leaders of our past, Beth embraces the same passion, ideas, commitment and hope! Supporting and collaborating with others to create innovative solutions, Beth Schieber strives for excellence, serves in her community and makes a difference in teachers’ and students’ lives.”
Schieber also has received the Oklahoma State Organization Achievement Award. She has served on nine DKG International committees and the DKG International Educators Foundation Board of Directors.
She has received the Golden Gift Fund award for the Leadership Management Seminar and the Golden Gift Special Study Stipend for Ethics and Character Development.
