The town of Okarche will soon have two more trustees.

Voters earlier this month overwhelmingly approved a proposition to bump its current form of government from three trustees to five.

The proposition passed 109-18, meaning nearly 86 percent of the 127 total voters were in favor.

Of those voters, 95 were in Kingfisher County. The Kingfisher County tally was 79-16 in favor.

The Canadian County voters saw 30 vote “yes” while only two voted against it.

The next move is now to decide whether the two new positions will be atlarge or if they’ll represent specific wards.

That decision will be made by current trustees Mayor Jeff Sadler, Jason Kroener and Jeff Brueggen.
