Okarche site of Culpepper & Merriweather Circus this Friday
Tickets are on sale for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus in Okarche.
Two showtimes are planned for Friday, Oct. 1, under the big tent for the event sponsored by Okarche Lions Club and Okarche Knights of Columbus.
Showtimes are 5 and 7:30 p.m. on the lot located behind Okarche High School.
Advance tickets can be purchased prior to Friday at Community National Bank of Okarche, First Bank of Okarche, CHS and Krittenbrink Pharmacy.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 2-12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.
Tickets will be sold the day of the circus for $15 for adults and $8 for children and seniors.
Children 2 and under are always free.
Shows will be 90 minutes.
Performers include Miss Simone on single trapeze, Mill Paulina’s “Big & Little” prancing ponies, the Arlise Troup unicycles, Logan Jimenez with his Cockatoo Review, Emilie Dean’s feats of aerial strength, the Wheel of Destiny, the Russian Swing by the Perez family and Trey Key’s performance with his jungle cats, Soloman and Delilah.
The circus is only part of Culpepper & Merriweather’s show.
Between 9:30 and 10 a.m. on the day of the performances, the public is invited to watch the raising of the big tent and stay for a free tour.
The tour includes a chance to meet some of the performers, learn facts about them as well as the history of the circus.
It will also include history and facts of the animals in the circus, including hygiene, grooming and veterinary care all the animals receive.
