One fifinal chance to catch The Chisholm’s ‘Summer Sounds’

The Chisholm in Kingfisher will be hosting its final concert in its summer series later this month.

Travis Kidd will be the featured performer on Aug. 15.

This is the fourth concert in the “Summer Sounds” series hosted by the museum, located at 605 Zellers Ave.

“They’ve gone well,” said Jason Harris, the museum’s executive director, of the three previous concerts.

“We’ve had about 100 to 150 people.” Harris expects even more from the concert series in the future.

“Once it catches on and we repeat it next summer, it will grow,” he said.

Kidd and his band are based in Tulsa, well-known and well-traveled.

They play 250-plus live events a year across the country.

“His style is hard to pin down,” Harris said. “It incorporates elements of classic and southern rock, country, blues and folk.

According to his website, Kidd’s music is roots rock and country soul.

It states he plays both original music and “cool covers.”

The music will start at 7 p.m., but get there early... and hungry.

The AJ’s Food Factory food truck will be there for dinner and the Swirly Sweets Ice Cream food truck for dessert.

Those food trucks will begin serving customers at 6 p.m.

The live music will start later on the lawn of Horizon Hill.

Reminds Harris: “Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair or your favorite blanket!”
