Only Cashion gets bigger August tax check
All Kingfisher cities and towns. except Cashion, showed losses in their August sales tax checks but Kingfisher County had a 35.14% increase.
The August 2021 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from June business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from June 16 to 30 and estimated sales from July 1-15.
The disbursement of $183,420,800 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $15,296,631 from the $168,124,169 distributed to the cities and towns in August last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $30,430,832.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $29,985,550 sales tax disbursement and a $5,479,222 use tax disbursement.
Sales tax checks were higher for a number of surrounding communities. (Check the accompanying chart on Page 1.)
Use tax checks which are derived from purchases made outside the state for delivery within the state were up and down for local designated entities.
