Pharmacist faces felony drug count

By

Enid pharmacist Gregory Gene Diel, 59, was charged last Wednesday in Garfield County District Court with possession of meth and possession of meth in a county jail, a felony.

Diel was arrested late last month in a hotel room where he allegedly was staying with another man who had been transported to the hospital after allegedly overdosing on fentanyl.

The man later died, according to an Oklahoma City TV news report.

A motel card key in the man’s pocket led authorities to the hotel room where they found Diel, along with a quantity of meth. More meth allegedly was found when Diel was searched after being transported to Garfield County Jail.

Diel is free on $10,000 bond and returns to court June 6.
