Pioneer observes Kindness Day with food donations

Employees and customers of Pioneer Telephone and Pioneer Cellular helped spread kindness during United Way of Northwest Oklahoma’s annual Kindness Day, which was observed Friday, Nov. 12, one day ahead of the international observance of World Kindness Day. More than 1,300 non-perishable food items were collected during a weeklong food drive with Pioneer store/office locations serving as drop-off sites throughout Pioneer’s 27 office and store locations. Food donations are being distributed locally within Pioneer’s service area. “Pioneer takes great pride in organizing events in our local communities, especially to help those in need,” said Kim Grellner, vice president of marketing, sales and customer service. “We are appreciative of the donations received and hope the generosity will continue through the holiday season.” Pictured with some of the donations collected are, from left, Cindy Gore of Pioneer, Grellner, Meliah Ratcliff of Kingfisher County Food Pantry and Debbie Biehler of Lomega Food Pantry.
