Pastor Joe Wright of Wichita Central Christian Church in Kansas was invited to give the invocation for the opening session of the Kansas State Legislature back in February, 1996.

It caused quite a reaction back then. Pastor Joe was attacked by the Political Left from all four corners of the nation.

Just image the reaction it would cause among the “woke’ fanatics of 2023.

Paul Harvey saw nothing wrong with the prayer back then, and he gave it legs by repeating it on his nationally syndicated radio show. Seems perfectly fine to me. Here it is: Heavenly Father, we come before You today to ask Your forgiveness, and to seek Your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good.’ And that is exactly what we’ve done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium.

We have inverted our values.

We confess that we’ve ridiculed the absolute Truth of Your Word in the name of moral pluralism.

We’ve endorsed perversion and called it ‘alternate lifestyle.’ We’ve worshiped other gods and called it ‘multiculturalism.’

We’ve exploited the poor and called it a ‘lottery.’

We’ve neglected the needy and called it ‘self-preservation.’

We’ve rewarded laziness and called it ‘welfare.’

Father, in the name of ‘choice,’ we have killed our unborn, and then in the name of ‘right to life,’ we’ve killed the abortionists.

We’ve neglected to discipline our children and called it ‘building esteem.’

We have abused power and called it ‘political savvy.’

We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ‘taxes.’

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it ‘freedom of expression.’

We’ve ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it ‘enlightenment.’

Search us, O God, know our hearts today, try us and show us any wickedness in us. And then cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

The late Dr. Tom Coburn compiled an enormously high stack of papers every year he was in the U.S. Senate highlighting useless, duplicated and irrelevant federal jobs, agencies and spending that amounted annually to tens of billions of wasted tax dollars.

I don’t know for certain, but common sense tells me that annual amount has increased considerably since his retirement from the Senate, seeing as how we’re now over 32 trillion U.S. dollars in debt.

And of late I’ve been wondering why the rabid Left, mainstream media, coastal elites and decidedly left-leaning Washington D.C. insiders who hold insulated and appointed jobs, are so afraid of Donald Trump.

From what I’m seeing and hearing, they are in fullscale panic mode in their efforts to either jail him or take him out of the 2024 presidential campaign any way they can.

They don’t even try to screen or hide their panic and fear. It’s there for all to see.

That response gives me a mental image of a nest of rats in the attic scurrying frantically in all directions when the roof is being repaired and their dark and secret hideaway is suddenly exposed to the light of day.

I am guessing these people must know something that many of the rest of us as yet don’t.

Those buried within the federal Deep State must realize if Trump is elected President again that not only will their power and/or money flow go away, but in some cases I assume they must be afraid of perhaps going to jail for abuse of power and criminal acts against our nation?

The three-letter agencies and departments: FBI, DOJ, NSA, CIA and IRS all come to mind for being weaponized by the Radical Left to attack those who oppose the Democrat party’s Marxist agenda.

Barak Hussein Obama started that practice. After all, he told us flat out on day-one of his presidency that his goal was to “fundamentally change” America. But, that’s another story.

Many of the Left’s media talking heads, elected officials and agency employees have put on public displays of wild-eyed, frenetic, screeching and manic words and actions demonstrating a very clear bias and hatred toward Trump. These people are completely out of touch with the reality of moderate-to-conservative America.

That’s enough for me. I’m voting for Trump in 2024.

He’s certainly not perfect. I cringe at times when he speaks, and he has been known to turn on fellow conservatives and subordinates who disagree with him.

And absolutely and most-certainly he has a huge ego.

But he fights back. That’s something many elected Republicans in D.C. seem to be afraid or unwilling to do.
