Precautions offered for parade’s laser show
The newest addition to this year’s Christmas parade festivities is a laser light show in conjunction with the fireworks display.
While certainly safe, those on the parade’s safety committee do feel it’s important to urge parade-goers to exercise caution and be aware of the following:
1. Avoid Direct Eye Contact: Lasers can pose a risk to vision if stared at directly. Refrain from looking directly into laser beams and advise children to do the same.
2. Seizure Precautions: Some individuals may be sensitive to flashing lights, including those emitted by lasers. If you have a history of seizures or are prone to photosensitive epilepsy, please take necessary precautions. Be mindful of the surroundings and move to a location away from the direct line of laser lights if needed.
3. Stay within Designated Areas: To mitigate potential risks, stay within designated spectator areas and follow any instructions from event organizers and security personnel.
4. Children and Pets: Keep a close eye on children and pets during the parade. Ensure they are at a safe distance from laser displays and have them avoid direct exposure.
5. Report Any Concerns: If you observe any unsafe practices or have concerns about laser use during the parade, please report them to event organizers or security personnel immediately.
