Pride of Kingfisher Superior at Tri-State
Judges at the recent Tri-State Music Festival at Enid gave Kingfisher High School band the highest possible rating for their marching show “Con Fuego.” The result was particularly sweet since last year’s marching season was hampered by COVID-19. “The kids worked really hard and we were all grateful that Covid did not affect our rehearsals like last year,” assistant director Mandy Owens said. “We also appreciate the incredible support we’ve received from Dr. [Daniel] Craig, [KPS superintendent], the school board and our band boosters.” Drum majors Destiny Buckner and Syra Littlehawk hold the trophy (kneeling). Other band members include: second row, from left, Ana Cuellar, K.C. Ortega and Angela Munoz; third row, Adah Anderman, Joaquin Wallace, Landon Eaton, Alezandro Cuellar, Erica Jenkins-Farris, Hannah Click, Keira Laudwig, Lyndsi Moyeda, Emily Altizer and Owens; back, Coleman Kitchens, Jesus Montiel, Andrew Osborn, Brody Boden, Brenden Hill, J.W. Struck, Wayde Barrios, Blake Mayfield, Colton Livingston, Clayton Weinmeister, Achilles Branson and Dakota Horn, director. [Photo Provided]
