Primary election voting ends Tuesday

Kingfisher County registered voters will help decide 11 Republican races and two Democrat races in primary elections ending at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A total of 159 votes had been cast in early, in-person voting as of 1 p.m. Friday.

Early voting is available through 6 p.m. Friday and then from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingfisher County Election Board at the county courthouse.

Voting is open statewide from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at regular polling places.

Voters of both parties will select nominees for governor and the U.S. Senate seat currently held by James Lankford.

Republican voters also will choose the winners in the following races where no Democrat candidates filed: Unexpired U.S. Senate race, U.S. Representative District 3 attorney general, superintendent of public instruction, state auditor and inspector, state treasurer, labor commissioner, corporation commissioner and the District 26 state senate position.

Winners of those primary races win automatic election, if they receive a majority of votes cast.

If no candidate receives a majority of the votes, the top two vote getters will face each other in a runoff primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The party nominees for the offices of governor and unexpired U.S. Senate position will meet in the general election Tuesday, Nov. 8, to determine the winner.

Governor

Republican – Kevin Stitt, incumbent, Moira McCabe, Joel Kintsel, and Mark Sherwood.

Democrat – Joy Hofmeister and Connie Johnson

U.S. Senator

Republican – James Lankford, incumbent; Joan Farr, Jackson Lahmeyer.

Democrat – Jo Glenn, Dennis L. Baker, Jason Bollinger, Brandon Wade, Madison Horn and Arya Azma.

U.S. Senator

Markwayne Mullin, John F. Tompkins, Scott Pruitt, T.W. Shannon, Adam Holley, Randy Grellner, Alex Gray, Paul Royse, Laura Moreno, Nathan Dahm, Jessica Jean Garrison, Michael Coibion and Luke Holland, all Republicans.

Auditor and Inspector

Steven W. McQuillen and Cindy Byrd, both Republicans.

Attorney General

Gentner F. Drummond and John M. O’Connor, both Republicans.

State Treasurer

David B. Hooten, Clark Jolley and Todd Russ, all Republicans.

State School Superintendent

John Cox, William E. Crozier, April Grace and Ryan Walters, all Republicans.

Labor Commissioner

Keith Swinton, Sean Roberts and Leslie Kathryn Osborn, all Republicans.

Corporation Commissioner

Harold D. Spradling, Justin Hornback, Todd Thomsen and Kim David, all Republicans.
