Books opened at 8 a.m. Wednesday for people wanting to throw their hat into the ring for the annual Kingfisher Rodeo.

Entries into this year’s event are being accepted until 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11.

The rodeo is set Aug. 16-17 at Kingfisher Roundup Club Arena.

The rodeo is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA) and the Kansas Professional Rodeo Association (KPRA).

Organizers are seeking entries for all events:

• Saddle bronc riding

• Bareback riding

• Bullriding

• Tie-down roping

• Breakaway roping

• Steer wrestling

• Ladies barrel racing

• Open team roping

• Junior barrels To enter, use the Next Gen Rodeo app or call or text Sherrie Cross, the Rockin’ Rodeo secretary, at 405313-1776.

Those wanting to participate in junior barrel racing (age 16 and under) can enter prior by 7:30 p.m. each night of the rodeo.
