Recent Kingfi sher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
July 26 - Carry firearms after conviction/ during probation.
Corporal Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle displaying an improper tag in the area of Third Street and Bowman Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 59-year-old male driver stated that he had recently purchased the vehicle and transferred the tag from his previous vehicle, because “he thought that was what you were supposed to do now.”
The driver was also determined to be driving without valid insurance, the report said.
Schlegel issued three citations to the driver - operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid, failure to comply with compulsory insurance law and affixing improper tag to vehicle.
Upon inventory of the vehicle, a shotgun which was missing the butt stock was located, the report said.
Schlegel said in his report that the driver is a convicted felon and not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.
July 27 - Operate/ APCV under the influence of intoxicating substance.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel said in his report that he observed a vehicle on U.S. 81 drifting in its lane and traveling in excess of the posted speed limit and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, McDaniel detected the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle and the 18-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
McDaniel performed field sobriety tests on the suspect and he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, the report said.
Upon inventory of the vehicle, an unopened Michelob Ultra was located in the glove box, according to the report.
A Ruger Security-380 firearm and ammunition were also taken into possession and released at a later date to a female passenger in the vehicle.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
August 1 - Larceny/ burglary of controlled dangerous substance.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel took a report of theft at Homestead Assisted Living and Memory Care, 1604 S. 13th St.
According to the report, Executive Director Marcie Musick stated a resident’s medication was missing and she suspected it was stolen.
Musick reported 16 doses of Rybelsus were unaccounted for and the total reported replacement value was $512.52, the report said.
August 3 - DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV aggravated.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of a possible domestic altercation on U.S. 81 in the area of Industrial Drive and Victory Lane.
According to the report, an off-duty officer observed a suspected altercation occurring between a male and female outside of a vehicle on the shoulder of U.S. 81.
The officer pulled in behind the vehicle and it “left at a high rate of speed, then proceeded through a red traffic light…before being stopped by Officer Jarred Tech,” the report said.
McDaniel said in his report that he made contact with the suspects regarding the altercation and detected the odor of alcohol on the 32-year-old male driver.
According to the report, McDaniel also observed an open carton of Bud Light beers and another open carton of Twisted Teas alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.
Field sobriety tests were performed on the driver and he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, the report said.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and an Intoxylizer test was performed.
August 4 - No valid driver’s license, transporting intoxicating beverage or low-point beer and operate/APC vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substance.
Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 failing to maintain its lane and he initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 40-year-old male suspect was driving without a valid driver’s license and appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
Field sobriety tests were performed and Deputy Charles Blackburn also administered a preliminary breath test, the report said.
Renbarger placed the suspect under arrest for driving while under the influence and he was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle and located a half-full bottle of Corona which was cold to the touch, an empty Bud Light Chelada and a full box of Corona beers, according to the report.
