Recent Kingfisher PD reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

June 16 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.

Captain Travis Gray responded to a report of vandalism in the 200 block of North First Street.

Sarah Scott reportedly stated she had parked her vehicle on the evening of June 16 and the following morning discovered the driver’s side window had been broken overnight.

Officer Dustin Brodrick took photographs of the damage, the report said.

June 18 - Trespass.

Officer Jarred Tech responded

to a report of trespassing at Love’s Country Store.

According to the report, a known 23-year-old male had previously been trespassed from the property and “this was the third time officers have told him he was trespassed from Love’s and the property.”

The suspect was placed under arrest for trespassing and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Deputy James McNew assisted with the investigation.

June 22 - Expired license plates, no insurance, transporting open container-liquor and DUI-liquor or drugs.

Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle with an expired paper tag on U.S. 81 and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, a 28-year-old male driver was driving without insurance and appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.

Schlegel performed field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test on the suspect, the report said.

The suspect was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officer Justin Conner performed an inventory of the vehicle, in which he located a half-full pint of Tvarscki 100 proof vodka, the report said.

The suspect was also issued four district citations - operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due state have not been paid, failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law, transporting an open container of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

June 26 - Receiving/ possessing/ concealing stolen property.

Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of possible stolen property in the 600 block of East Robberts Avenue.

According to the report, Sergeant Charles Trout stated an individual reported 47 sheets of OSB boards were missing and an Apple AirTag secured to one sheet indicated they were possibly located at a residence in Kingfisher.

Brodrick and Officer Quinton Cline made contact with a 52-year-old male at the residence and he reportedly told officers he had purchased 30 sheets of OSB board from a male individual in El Reno.

Officers made contact with the suspect who sold the boards and he provided a phone number for the individual that he had allegedly purchased the boards from, the report said.

According to the report, the 52-year-old male suspect transported the 30 sheets to the Kingfisher Police Department and an AirTag was located on one sheet.

The reported value of the OSB boards was $600.

June 27 - Protective order violation.

Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report of a protective order violation in the 200 block of South Eighth Street.

June 28 - Malicious injury/ destruction of property.

Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of property damage in the Braum’s parking lot, 1615 S. Main St.

A 30-year-old female driver of a Kroger delivery vehicle reportedly stated a female individual “lost control of a shopping cart and hit the side of the Kroger delivery vehicle.”

According to the report, the suspect approached the delivery vehicle and said she was sorry, but fled the area.

The delivery driver provided photos of the woman’s vehicle and license plate, as well as damage to the delivery vehicle.

Svoboda was able to determine the suspect’s identity from the vehicle tag number and made contact with the 78-year-old female suspect regarding the incident, according to the report.

July 1 - Reckless driving and driving without license canceled/suspended/ revoked.

According to the report, Officer Christopher McDaniel was advised a known 30-year-old male with a suspended driver’s license was approaching Kingfisher on a motorcycle.

McDaniel said in his report that he observed the suspect traveling eastbound on S.H. 33 and he attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

McDaniel observed the motorcycle pass two vehicles in a no-passing zone beneath the railroad underpass and accelerate up to 70 miles per hour before he terminated the pursuit near NS2880 Road, the report said.

Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Deputy James McNew assisted with the investigation.

July 4 - Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 in the area of Locust Avenue “swerving back and forth” and “go left of center.”

According to the report, Schlegel initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The 76-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were performed on the suspect, the report said.

Schlegel placed the suspect under arrest for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance and transported him to Mercy Hospital Kingfi sher for a state’s blood test.

The suspect was then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and issued a warning for the lane violation and a district citation for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

Officer Kyle Svoboda assisted with the investigation.

July 5 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick took a statement from Jeremy Steuart regarding an incident of theft that occurred at Ace, 123 E. Miles Ave. on June 21.

According to the report, on June 22 an employee discovered “a 2.5 gallon shop vacuum on the shelf, out of its box (and) stuffed behind lights.”

A male suspect was observed on surveillance footage removing the shop vac and replacing the contents with two Dewalt 1/2 inch brushless impact wrench kits valued at $479 each and another unidentified item, according to the report.

The suspect then proceeded to the checkout and paid for the “shop vac” with cash and exited the store, the report said.

Surveillance video and photos were provided to the officer.

July 8 - Malicious injury/ destruction of property.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of property damage at U.S. 81 and Starlite Drive.

According to the report, a 40-year-old male, driving a 2007 Peterbilt semi-truck with an oversized load, struck the temporary traffic light, causing it to be “hanging very low” and one of the light coverings to break off.

Conner said in his report that he was unable to locate the suspect’s vehicle when he arrived at the scene and was informed that it had continued northbound.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper located the vehicle and made contact with the driver.

According to the report, the driver stated he “knew he hit the light, but his escort vehicle said there was no damage.”

City electric department employees arrived on the scene and, after unsuccessful attempts to straighten the leaning traffic pole, left the bucket truck attached to the pole until the following Monday, the report said.

July 10 - Driving under the influence of drugs.

Sergeant Justin Trumb-ley responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver.

Trumbley said in his report he observed the suspect’s vehicle at Love’s Country Store, 201 S. Main St. with the driver “slumped toward the driver’s side door…and his head was up against the door window.”

Trumbley made contact with the known 33-year-old male suspect, with whom he had previously made contact with earlier in the day when Officer Matthew Hollon had stopped the driver for a traffi c violation, the report said.

The suspect appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and a bottle of air duster, which was cold to the touch indicating recent use, was located near the suspect’s left arm, according to the report.

The suspect was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher to have blood drawn for drug testing, the report said.

The suspect was then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
