The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

July 18 - Assault and battery. — Officer Steven Renbarger responded to a report of an assault at Homestead Assisted Living and Memory Care. According to the report, Renbarger was dispatched to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher in regards to a 94-year-old female patient who alleged that a male entered her room at Homestead and pushed her down, resulting in injuries. Renbarger identified the suspect as a 93-year-old male resident at the facility, the report said.

August 4 - Warrant, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance. — Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of an unwanted individual in the 200 block of North First Street. Svoboda said in his report that he located the 42-year-old female suspect and she appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication. Dispatch advised that the suspect also had an outstanding warrant in Canadian County, the report said. The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. A search of the suspect’s backpack produced two glass smoking pipes with residue in them, a cigarette wrapper containing a green leafy substance, a red straw with residue, a plastic bag with crystal-like residue and another cigarette wrapper containing a crystal-like substance which yielded a presumptive positive test for methamphetamine, according to the report.

August 6 - Failure to register as sex offender. — Officer Matthew Hollon said in his report that he made contact with a known 43-year-old sex offender in the 800 block of South Third Street. According to the report, the individual was placed under arrest for failing to register as a sex offender and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Captain Dustin Brodrick and Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.

August 8 - Grand larceny. — Lieutenant Justin Trumbley took a report of theft in the area of Sykes and Fourth Avenue. According to the report, John Gooden stated two of his trailers were stolen and the total value of both trailers was $2,800.

August 15 - Speeding and operate/APC vehicle under influence of intoxicating substance. — Sergeant Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, Schlegel detected the odor of marijuana and the 43-yearold female driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were performed and the suspect was placed under arrest for speeding in excess of lawful maximum limit and for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance, the report said. The suspect was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for a blood draw for the state’s test and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Officers Justin Conner and Jarred Tech performed an inventory of the suspect’s vehicle and it was towed from the scene.

August 16 - Larceny of domestic animals. — Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of a stolen dog in the 200 block of East Fay Avenue. According to the report, a 57-year-old female suspect refused to return the reporting party’s dog to him. Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.

August 16 - Public intoxication. — Sergeant Aaron Schlegel responded reports of an altercation, along with other officers and deputies, at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds, 300 S. 13th St. According to the report, a group of “probably 200 - 300 people” were in the parking lot, with several minors drinking alcohol. Officers issued citations and contacted the minors’ parents, the report said. Schlegel said in his report that a 22-year-old male suspect appeared to be intoxicated and was belligerent while making contact with officers. The suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Officers Steven Renbarger and Michael Farrar, as well as Deputies Jeremy Conner, Charles Blackburn and Chuck Countryman, assisted with the investigation.
