Recent Kingfisher PD reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

August 7 - Fraudulent use of credit card number.

Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick took a report of credit card fraud in the 700 block of East Robberts Avenue.

According to the report, Myrna Richards stated her credit card number had been used to fraudulently purchase an iPad valued at $588.35 on her Amazon account.

Richards provided a shipping confirmation address which was located in Guthrie and three possible suspects associated with that address, the report said.

Richards later reported two more fraudulent purchases made on eBay through PayPal - possible laptop computers valued at $759.43 and $852.14, according to the report.

Brodrick said in his report that he contacted a Logan County deputy to assist with obtaining a description and photo of the residence in which the packages were delivered and was informed the property appeared to be vacant.

August 9 - No driver’s license and no insurance.

Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a known suspect driving a vehicle southbound on South 7th Street and confirmed with dispatch that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license.

Schlegel initiated a traffi c stop in the area of South Seventh Street and West Fay Avenue and made contact with the 36-year-old male driver, the report said.

According to the report, the suspect was driving without a valid license or insurance and also had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from or about his person.

The suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and issued a citation for that offense as well as failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law.

An inventory was performed on the vehicle and it was towed, the report said.

Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.

August 10 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of an attempted theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, a male and female suspect “placed several items inside a metal trash can and passed all points of sale without paying for the items.”

The manager said when an employee attempted to stop the suspects, they abandoned the cart containing the stolen items and fled the property, according to the report.

Brodrick provided a description of the suspects and the vehicle in his report.

August 11 - Malicious injury to property-over $1,000.

Captain Travis Gray responded to a report of property damage in the 100 block of East Jackson Street.

According to the report, Erik Padilla stated he noticed “the ignition had been busted and something broke off inside the keyhole” on a vehicle located on his property.

Gray said in his report that he took photographs of the exterior of the vehicle, the ignition and a missing panel under the steering column.

The officer also took photos of three screwdriver bits located in the driver’s side of the vehicle and collected them as possible evidence, the report said.

The owner of the vehicle was also contacted, according to the report.

August 13 - Leaving scene of accident, damaged fixture.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of property damage at U.S. 81 and Starlite Drive.

According to the report, a semi-truck carrying an oversized load struck the northbound traffic light on U.S. 81 rendering it inoperable, but fled the scene.

Conner said in his report that Trooper Jeff Jech informed him that he had made a traffic stop of the possible suspect’s semitruck north of Kingfisher.

Conner made contact with the 54-year-old male driver who stated that he “did not know why” he failed to stop after hitting the light and being informed by his pilot driver that he had done so, the report said.

The suspect was issued two district citations and photographs were taken of possible damage to the semi and the damaged traffi c light, according to the report.

August 15 - Domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and resist arrest search or transport.

Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 400 block of West Chisholm Drive.

Sergeant Charles Trout assisted with the investigation.
