Recent Kingfisher PD reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
December 15 - Larceny- auto, aircraft or other motor vehicle.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Johnsons of Kingfisher, 1801 S. Main St.
According to the report, a Johnsons representative stated a 2018 Dodge Durango was stolen from the auto dealership on Nov. 12.
The representative reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and said it shows a person walk out of the ditch and place a tag on the vehicle and then drive off, the report said.
The vehicle identification was entered into the National Crime Information Center.
The reported value of the vehicle was $39,000.
December 15 - DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV aggravated, transporting open container-liquor, expired tag and failure to show insurance.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle on Broadway Avenue with an expired tag and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 46-year-old male driver was driving without insurance and appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
Schlegel performed a preliminary breath test and field sobriety tests on the suspect, the report said.
The suspect was placed under arrest for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
An inventory of the vehicle was performed and an open container of alcohol, which was cold to the touch and approximately 3/4 full, was located in the vehicle, the report said.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and a breathalyzer was performed, according to the report.
The suspect was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the infl uence (aggravated), transporting an open container of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due this state have not been paid and failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley and Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
December 17 - Operate vehicle while suspended, denied, revoked and operate/ APC vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substance.
Officer Derek Grassman said in his report that he observed a vehicle on Main Street traveling at a higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 23-year-old male was driving with a revoked driver’s license and appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
Grassman performed field sobriety tests on the suspect and placed him under arrest for suspicion of DUI and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license, according to the report.
The suspect was also issued a warning for speeding in excess of the lawful maximum limit.
Officers Jarred Tech and Kyle Svoboda performed an inventory of the vehicle and it was impounded.
December 18 - Burglary- second degree (automobile).
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft from a vehicle in the 1500 block of South Seventh Street.
According to the report, Preston Gann stated that his vehicle had been broken into and his wallet and his wife’s purse were stolen.
Gann reported that both the wallet and purse contained several important documents including Social Security cards, driver’s licenses, a birth certificate and debit cards, according to the report.
Hollon searched the area for evidence and attempted to locate any security cameras in the vicinity, the report said.
December 6 - Assault and battery, pointing firearms at another and planning or threatening a violent act.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley responded to a report of an altercation in the 1000 block of South 12th Street.
According to the report, a delivery driver stated he delivered a pallet of merchandise to a residence and a dispute arose concerning the paperwork.
The driver said the individual who signed for the delivery physically assaulted him, threatened him with a firearm and left the scene, according to the report.
Trumbley said in his report that the 43-year-old male suspect came to the police department and reported that the delivery driver accused him of stealing his paperwork, attempted to enter his residence and “kicked him or attempted to trip him.”
The suspect then stated that he retaliated and “took a swing at the truck driver and hit him,” the report said.
Captain Travis Gray assisted with the investigation.
December 18 - Vicious animal prohibited.
Officer Steven Renbarger responded to a report of a dog bite victim in the 100 block of South Fifth Street.
According to the report, Amelia Solano stated she was riding her bike to work when she was bitten by a dog in the area of South Fifth Street.
Renbarger said in his report that he made contact with the dog’s owner and was provided documentation of its current vaccinations.
A citation for vicious animal at large was issued to the dog’s owner, the report said.
December 19 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, an asset protection employee stated that a male suspect had scanned an item in the self-checkout lane, appeared to enter a payment which was not valid and then exit the store with the merchandise.
The reported value of the item was $15.16 and officers were provided with video footage of the incident, the report said.
