The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

June 21 – Domestic assault and battery/abuse. Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 300 block of South Ninth Street.

June 22 – Burglary–second degree. Officer Justin Trumbley responded to a report of a possible burglary in the 1300 block of South 12th Street.

Raymond McDonald reportedly stated when he returned to his residence for lunch, he noticed his dogs were barking and upon opening his door he heard a door close, followed by another door closing.

McDonald then retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and proceeded to check the inside of the home for intruders or a burglary, according to the report.

No items were reported missing from the home, but a rifle bag had been unzipped, the report said.

June 22 – Planning or threatening violent act. Officer Aaron Schlegel received a report of threatening phone calls made to an individual.

June 28 – Burglary–second degree. Captain Travis Gray responded to a report of theft in the 1100 block of Clearview Drive.

Candace Kretchmar reportedly stated that she had placed a backpack containing a laptop in her vehicle the previous evening and discovered it was missing the following morning.

Kretchmar said she didn’t notice anything else missing from the vehicle, according to the report.

June 30 – DUI–liquor or drugs and transporting open container–liquor.

Officer Tyler Girten was dispatched to a report of a possible drunk driver on U.S. Highway 81 between Okarche and Kingfisher.

A 1990 Chevrolet truck and the 49–year–old male driver were located along the northwest side of U.S. 81 in the vicinity of Victory Lane, according to the report.

The driver was standing near the back of the wrecked vehicle, the report said.

Girten said in his report that the driver appeared to be intoxicated and, upon his refusal to perform field sobriety tests, was placed under arrest.

According to the report, an open bottle of Jim Beam liquor was discovered in the vehicle during inventory.

The suspect was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher and received medical clearance for incarceration, according to the report.

The suspect was then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicant and transporting an open container of alcohol.

Officers Brandon Chap man and Ryan Gibson as well as Sgt. Charles Trout assisted with the investigation.
