The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

October 7 - Public intoxication. Officer Christopher McDaniel responded to a report of a suspected intoxicated individual “passed out” in the front yard of a residence in the 1100 block of South Ninth Street.

McDaniel said in his report that upon arrival he observed the 25-year-old suspect lying partially in the street with an almost empty 42-ounce liquor bottle by his side.

According to the report, after several attempts McDaniel was able to rouse the individual and observed indications the suspect was intoxicated.

The suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher to be evaluated and medically cleared for incarceration, the report said.

The suspect was released for incarceration and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, according to the report.

October 8 - Possession of controlled substance and speeding.

Officer Christopher McDaniel said in his report that while he was on patrol, he observed a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro speeding in the 1200 block of South Main Street and he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle.

According to the report, McDaniel issued a citation for speeding and, upon receiving the driver’s permission, he and Officer Tyler Girten began a search of the vehicle.

A cigarette pack and glass pipe with burnt residue was located in the passenger door pocket and the 37-year-old male passenger admitted the pipe was his and contained crack cocaine, the report said.

According to the report, McDaniel performed a field test of the pipe residue, which produced a presumptive positive result for cocaine.

The driver was released and the passenger was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, the report said.

The suspect was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher where he received medical clearance for incarceration and was then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

October 9 - Speeding, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited, driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked and execution of arrest warrant.

Officer Jeffrey Robbins said in his report that he observed a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix speeding in the area of U.S. 81 and Admire Avenue and he initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 44-year-old male driver was driving with a suspended license and had two outstanding warrants.

Robbins questioned the driver regarding any illegal substances in the vehicle and, after initially denying any were present, the suspect admitted, “there might be some meth and paraphernalia in the car,” the report said.

Upon a search of the vehicle, Robbins observed a baggie containing a clear crystal substance, several smoking pipes (some containing crystal-like substance) and other paraphernalia with residue, according to the report.

Robbins conducted a presumptive field test on the substance located in the baggie, which tested positive for methamphetamine, the report said.

The suspect was placed under arrest for outstanding warrants, speeding, driving under suspension, possession of controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two passengers in the vehicle were released.

October 12 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Jeffrey Robbins responded to a report of theft from Love’s Country Store, 203 S. Main St.

A store employee reportedly stated a male and female had entered the store at 8:19 p.m. and the male re-entered the store at 11:25 p.m. with a different female.

According to the report, during the second visit another customer approached the employee stating the female appeared to have something hidden in her shirt.

The employee reviewed surveillance footage of both incidents and observed the female take two hats during the initial visit and the male take a beef jerky and the female take laundry detergent in the second visit, the report said.

Robbins said in his report that he viewed the surveillance video and recognized one of the females.

Robbins went to the residence the female was known to reside at and was able to identify both women and the man based on the clothing they were wearing as well as their description from surveillance footage, the report said.

October 14 - Petit larceny and obstructing officer. Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of theft at Casey’s General Store, 102 S. Main St.

Conner said in his report that, after receiving a description of the suspect, he located the suspect at a residence in the 100 block of North Eighth Street.

According to the report, the suspect was sitting on the porch with two other individuals and entered the house as Conner approached and refused to come out.

The homeowner gave officers permission to enter the residence and the suspect denied having knowledge of the theft of two cases of beer and gave the officers a false name, the report said.

A full case of beer and a partial case of beer were retrieved from the home, according to the report.

Conner was advised by dispatch that the suspect had a possible warrant in El Reno, the report said.

Officers made contact with the manager at Casey’s General Store and viewed the surveillance footage of the incident.

The reported value of the beer was $38.21.

October 17 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of attempted theft from Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

Hollon said in his report that he met with the Walmart loss prevention officer, who informed him that he witnessed a male subject under ringing items at the self-checkout (scanning one item and bagging multiple).

According to the report, the loss prevention officer confronted the suspect and the individual dropped the bags of merchandise, exited the store and fled.

The reported value of the items was $86.63.
