Recent traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:

November 26, 1:15 p.m. - At Mitchell Boulevard and Mitchell Drive. Mark Giles, 66, Hennessey, driving a 2023 GMC Sierra, was traveling northbound on Mitchell Drive. Monty Coleman, 36, Oklahoma City, driving a 2020 Peterbilt garbage truck, was backing down Mitchell Drive in an attempt to pick up garbage cans and struck the Giles vehicle. Functional damage was reported to the Giles vehicle and minor damage to the Coleman vehicle. No injuries were reported. Lieutenant Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.

December 5, 6:45 a.m. - At U.S. 81 near Starlite Drive. — Rodney Schaefer, 59, Okarche, driving a 2008 Dodge Ram, was northbound on U.S. 81. According to the report, a deer entered the roadway and struck the Schaefer vehicle in the driver’s side. Functional damage was reported to the Schaefer vehicle. No injuries were reported. Lieutenant Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.

December 6, 7:11 p.m. At East Oklahoma Avenue. — Alicia Webb, 47, Enid, driving a 2013 Honda Accord, was westbound on East Oklahoma Avenue and stopped behind a vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 81. According to the report, the vehicle in front of the Webb vehicle backed up, struck the Webb vehicle and then fled the scene. Minor damage was reported to the Webb vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Jarred Tech investigated the accident.

December 9, 8:15 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Douglas Avenue. Jennifer Cruz, 54, Kingfi sher, driving a 2024 Kia Carnival, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81. Scott Garvin, 43, Kingfi sher, driving a 2025 Ram 1500, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81. According to the report, the Cruz vehicle attempted to merge into the outside lane and struck the Garvin vehicle. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Captain Dustin Brodrick investigated the accident.

December 16, 4:41 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Overstreet Avenue. Sara Quinn, 40, Kingfi sher, driving a 2006 Nissan Altima, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81. A 16-year-old female, Okarche, driving a 2022 Jeep Wrangler, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81 directly behind the Quinn vehicle. According to the report, the Quinn vehicle stopped to make a left turn and the 16-year-old’s vehicle struck the Quinn vehicle in the rear. Functional damage was reported to the Quinn vehicle and minor damage to the 16-year-old’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel investigated the accident.
