Kingfisher Rotary Club - and Kingfisher Public Schools teachers - proved to be the big winners at the 2023 Kingfi sher Educational Foundation Duck Race. A record 564 ducks were sold for this year’s event, which was held Tuesday afternoon at the Vernie Snow Aquatic Center. The duck purchased by the Rotary Club came in first place to win the $1,000 grand prize. Rotary President Jason Harris (left photo, right side) is pictured with David Blair, president of the KEF. Pictured in the center on the right is Brent Henderson, president of BancFirst, which purchased the second-place duck and garnered $500. Henderson is pictured with KEF board members Heath Redwine and Tanya Cameron. Third place and a $300 prize went to KJ Kochenower while the last-place duck, purchased by Tyler Schwarz, won $100. The event is the lone fundraiser held by the KEF, which uses the funds to provide grants to KPS teachers each year. [Photos provided]
