Ellyn Reid and Bruin Bourgeois of Climax, Mich., announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Parents of the couple are Gary and Christine Reid of Kingfisher and Lee and Donna Bourgeois of The Woodlands, Texas.

A 2013 Kingfisher High School valedictorian, Reid graduated magna cum laude from Oklahoma Christian University in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

She worked for a year as a registered nurse at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City before moving to Michigan, where she worked two years at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She recently accepted a new position at Borgess Wound and Hyperbaric Clinic.

Bourgeois graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2013 and earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, with an electrical engineering minor, from the University of Oklahoma in 2018.

He works as an electronic systems engineer for the Eaton Cummins Joint Venture in Galesburg, Mich.

He is the grandson of Bill and Emmy Montgomery of Woodway, Texas.

The couple is planning a September 2022 wedding in Battle Creek, Mich.
