Road, bridge prop passes
Kingfisher County voters on Tuesday gave a thumbs up to continuing to fund county road and bridge projects.
A proposition to extend a half-cent sales tax for another five years was approved by a 69.57% to 30.43% margin.
“The BOCC appreciates the continued support of a tax that is being put to work for all the citizens here,” said Heath Dobrovolny, chairman of the Kingfi sher Board of County Commissioners.
“All three districts are actively using those funds to construct new projects.”
Dobrovolny noted there are 20 miles of new three-inch asphalt overlay projects with a total cost of $4,257,063 that will be completed this year.
A total of 493 voters took part in the election.
The countywide vote by numbers by category included:
Total vote – yes, 343; no, 150.
Absentee mail – yes, 24; no, 19.
Early voting – yes, 27; no, 12.
Election Day voting – yes, 292; no, 119.

Pct. 103 (Central Baptist Assn.) – yes 11, no 6.

Pct. 106 (Young Residence, Dover) – no votes on election day.
Pct. 201 ( Hennessey Library) - yes 11, no 12.
Pct. 202 ( Hennessey Public Schools Auditorium) – yes 60, no 19.
Pct. 203 (Central Bap- tist Church, Dover) – yes 3, no 0.
Pct. 204 (Dover Town Hall) – yes 21, no 6.
Pct. 301 (Kingfisher Sr. Citizens Center) – yes 54, no 24.
Pct. 302 (Okarche Public Schools) – yes 32, no 12.
Pct. 304 (Lomega High School) – yes 17, no 3.
