Roads closing for construction

Kingfisher County Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny announced two upcoming road closures for bridge construction in District 3.

County Road N 2700

will be closed between E 720 road and E 730 road for bridge construction, beginning Sept. 12.

For reference, the location is four miles west of Loyal (on E 720) and 4.5 miles north of Lomega High School (on N 2700) and will be closed for approximately 10 weeks, Dobrovolny said. Two detour routes for traffic on E 730 road are between N 2700 and N 2690 road (west) and N 2700 and N 2720 road (east).

Both east and west routes are gravel improved roads and speed limits will be lowered to 35mph during the closure.

County Road E 720

will be closed between N 2820 road and N 2810 road for bridge construction, beginning Sept. 26.

The location is 7.5 miles east of Loyal (on E720) and 1.5 miles west and 8 miles north of Kingfisher and will be closed approximately 15 weeks.

Two detour routes available for traffic on E 760 Lemon Road include:

•Beginning at N 2830, going two miles west to N 2810 then north four miles to E720 road.

•A secondary route west on E 720 road, from N 2830 to N 2820, then south to E 730, then west to N 2810, then south back to E 720.

Speed limits will be lowered to 35mph during the closure.

Stop signs will be added during construction to the intersections of N 2820 and E 730, N 2810 and E 730 and N 2810 and E 740.

The changes to speed and stop signs are enforceable for the purposes of construction and detours and will be removed once construction is complete.

Motorists in the area are encouraged to exercise caution in and around the construction projects.
