Rotarians hosts 4 KHS seniors

Four Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.

Joining the local civic group were Jax Sternberger, Wrigley Kennedy, Harrison Evans and Noah Friesen.

Sternberger is the son of Jason and Jackie Sternberger.

He’s active in basketball, football, golf and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Sternberger was also a member of two state championship basketball teams, two academic state championship teams and was named an Oklahoma Football Coaches Association 3A All-Star and was District 3A-1 quarterback of the year.

He plans to major in business and play football at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Kennedy is the son of Michael and Angie Kennedy.

He’s active in track, football and is a member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society and was selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State football team.

Kennedy plans to major in finance and play football at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Evans is the son of Austin and Cody Evans.

He’s active in football, track and is a member of the National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society.

Evans was also selected as the District 3A-1 Defensive Most Valuable Player and to the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association 3A All-Star team.

He plans to major in accounting at the University of Oklahoma.

Friesen is the son of Jon and Lavon Friesen.

He’s active in football, track, STUCO and was selected football all-district.

Friesen plans to major in business supply chain management at Northern Oklahoma College-Stillwater and then at Oklahoma State University.

Rotarian Jeff Hyatt served as the guest speaker during the meeting last Tuesday.

Hyatt is the chief marketing officer for Cimarron Electric Cooperative and discussed a number of different safety issues and procedures practices by the co-op.
