Rotary Club hosts 5 KHS seniors
Five Kingfisher High School seniors were guests last week of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.
Joining the local civic group were Jesus Montiel, Ana Cuellar, Leyla Avila, Biviana Orozco and Gretchen Garrett.
Montiel is the son of Patricia Celiz.
He’s a member of the Pride of Kingfisher and is a part of the drumline.
He also plays soccer. Montiel’s a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University to major in engineering after high school.
Cuellar is the daughter of Angelica and José Cuellar.
She is also in the KHS band and also a part of the color guard.
She’s active in FCCLA and is the club’s president for a second year.
Cuellar is a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
She plans to attend
[See Rotary, Page 7] Southern Nazarene University and major in business with an interior design minor.
Avila is the daughter of Rosa Pratts and Jose Avila.
She’s active in FFA and was a member of the conduct of chapter meetings team that took third at the national competition.
A member of Lifeway Church, she plans to pursue a degree in pediatric medicine after high school.
Orozco is the daughter of Leticia Rivera.
She’s active in FFA, Spanish Club, Student Council and FCCLA.
She also attends Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
After high school, Orozco plans to pursue a career in interior design, event planning or fashion.
Garrett is the daughter of Greg and Sara Garrett.
She was her freshman class queen and is the senior class secretary.
In FFA, she’s participated in public speaking and is on the floriculture team and was a part of the state champion parliamentary procedure team.
Garrett is also a cheerleader and is a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
She plans to attend Oklahoma State University and wants to work with children.
