RPC Operations bid awarded county shop remodel project
Kingfisher County commissioners awarded a contract to add an addition and remodel of the District 1 shop to RPC Operations of Kingfisher Monday.
RPC submitted the low bid of $249,860 a week earlier, the lowest of six bids submitted. Bids ranged to a high of $518,000.
Commissioners appointed District 3 Commissioner Anthony Schwarz to represent them on the Wheatheart Nutrition board, succeeding former District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny, who resigned the position as well as county commissioner to accept a position with the state of New Mexico earlier this year.
District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek nominated Schwarz to the position.
Schwarz said his first board meeting would be in December.
Meetings are held at Blackwell.
Wheatheart Nutrition, which is headquartered in Blackwell serves a daily noon meal in 18 rural sites in an eight-county area, including Kingfisher County.
In other action in a 12-minute meeting, commissioners approved reports for the election board, treasurer and court clerk, tabled action on a request to buy a drone for the county Emergency Management office to allow time to decide what account to use to pay for it, and approved appropriations and transfers for the month of August.
Shimanek announced he would attend the Circuit Engineering District 8 board meeting at Alva Wednesday and District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss, chairman, reported he would attend meetings of the county Tax Roll Corrections Board and county Excise Board at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Kingfisher.
Also present for the meeting were Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage, Deputy County Clerk Emily Lee as minute clerk and Tanner Richards.
