THIS SATURDAY, AUG. 5 IN KINGFISHER
It’s going to be hot, but the sales and multitude of activities are going to be even hotter in Kingfisher this weekend. Shopping. Car show. Rodeo. All that and more will highlight the weekend.
Here’s a list of the events on tap:
Crazy Days
Kingfisher’s downtown merchants are offering three days of bargains galore, Aug. 4-6, coinciding with Oklahoma’s annual tax-free weekend.
That means, in addition to great sale prices, state and local sales tax won’t be charged on purchases of shoes and clothing, a great opportunity to save on back-to-school shopping.
Check out Crazy Days sale ads on Page 2 of this edition from Angelita & Co., Baby in Bloom, Designs by Dennis, DSIGNZ Custom Screen Printing, Heritage Pharmacy and Medic Pharmacy & Gifts of Kingfisher.
Kool Cars & Chrome
This alternative to the abundance of shopping celebrates its 21st year on Saturday, with cars of all description on display from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Interbank parking lot. Award winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
Feeling Hungry?
Come hungry. Leave full.
The Pride of Kingfisher Band will be serving up breakfast burritos and burgers at the car show and God’s Covenant Church will sell Indian tacos.
Also look for food trucks such as Chick-fil-a and DonutNV.
More Shopping Opportunities
City-wide garage sales will offer everything under the sun from one end of town to the other. Look for a list of current addresses already signed up on Page 3 of this edition.
And if you’re still looking for bargains, check out the flea market at the RV park at 19423 N2810 Road. Watch for signs pointing the way.
Fresh veggies, honey, jams and more can be had at the Farmer’s Market, from 8 a.m. to noon at 505 N. Main St.
How’s Your Aim?
Tired of shopping? Already full? Test your throwing skills with free axe throwing provided by Enid Axe Throwing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cowboys, Bulls, Barrels...And Dancing
Entertain your inner cowboy at the annual Kingfisher Round-Up Club Rodeo at 8 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5 at the Kingfisher Round-Up Club Arena.
Then scoot those boots at the Elks Club Rodeo Dance from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Aug. 5 at the Elks Lodge.
