It’s definitely not too cool for school.

Temperatures are still hitting triple digits and soon the county hallways - and classrooms - will be full of students.

All but one county district will begin school this Thursday, Aug. 10.

That list includes Kingfisher, Dover, Hennessey, Lomega, Okarche and Holy Trinity Catholic School.

Cashion begins a week later on Thursday, Aug. 17.

All county schools have “open house” and “meet the teacher” events planned this week: Kingfisher - Aug. 8

Gilmour Elementary (Pre-k through first grades) “Meet the Teacher” is from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Heritage Elementary (2-3) “Meet the Teacher” is from 5-7 p.m.

Kingfisher Upper Elementary (4-6) “Meet the Teacher” and schedule pickup is 5-7 p.m.

Kingfisher Junior High (7-8) and High School (912) open house is 5-7 p.m.

Cashion - Aug. 15

“Meet the Teacher” and schedule pick-up for all students is 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Dover - Aug. 8

“Meet the Teacher” and schedule pick-up is from 6-8 p.m. Parents and students can also tour the new elementary building. There is also a $5 hot dog/hamburger meal that will benefit athletics.

Hennessey - Aug. 8

“Meet the Teacher” and schedule pick-up for all students is 4-6 p.m.

Holy Trinity - Aug. 8

“Meet the Teacher” is 6-6:30 p.m. followed by a parent meeting in Parish Hall. Event will feature free food and snow cones.

Lomega - Aug. 9

“Meet the Teacher” for elementary students will be 5-7 p.m.

Okarche - Aug. 8

Open house and “Meet the Teacher” for all students is 5-7 p.m.
