All the county’s school districts will honor military veterans with assemblies, programs - and some even with meals - this week.

Veterans Day (Nov. 11) falls this year on Tuesday.

Below are updated details shared by school districts on their plans to honor veterans:

Lomega Student Council invites veterans to a lunch and program. Veterans and a spouse or guest are invited to a lunch at noon in the high school gym lobby. The program begins at 1 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Please RSVP by calling 405-729-4281.

Hennessey Public Schools is hosting a program at 10 a.m. in the HPS auditorium. All veterans are invited to attend.

Cashion Public Schools will serve veterans a breakfast at 8 a.m. in the cafeteria annex. A program will follow in the auditorium at 9 a.m. The keynote speaker is Command Sgt. Maj. Stephen Raney of the 95th Training Division of the U.S. Army Reserve. All Cashion community veterans and their families are invited to attend.

Kingfisher High School Student Council is hosting a program at 11 a.m. at the KHS All-Purpose Building. The ceremony will be conducted by the Oklahoma Boys State and Oklahoma Girls State delegates. The KHS band and choir will also perform. After the program, honorees and a guest will be treated to a lunch in the high school commons. Please RSVP by emailing Amy Pearson at apearson@kingfisher.k12.ok.us.

Okarche Public Schools will honor veterans beginning with a breakfast at 8 a.m. in the high school gym lobby. That will be followed by a program at 9 a.m. in the high school gym.

Dover Public Schools will host its program at 10 a.m. in the high school gym. All local veterans are invited to attend.
