Search leads to finding deceased woman in car
A Kingfisher woman was found deceased last Monday in her vehicle outside of an Okarche restaurant.
Delita Starr, 64, was pronounced deceased outside of the Sonic Drive-In, according to reports.
The Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Department was conducting a missing persons search for Starr when her vehicle was discovered.
According the sheriff’s office, it received a call regarding Starr at about 6 p.m. Monday.
The report said Starr left her home in Kingfisher around noon or 1 p.m. for an appointment in El Reno, but was not reported to have made it to that appointment.
The KCSO had multiple personnel searching locally for Starr and also contacted the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and area hospitals.
According to a report from the Okarche Police Department, Starr was discovered in her vehicle around 6:30 p.m.
Okarche Police Chief Mike Smith said the state medical examiner was called to the scene.
Smith said that Starr’s medical history and a lack of any sign of trauma at the scene ruled out any foul play and Starr was released to the funeral home.
