See you at the fair

Ah…the sights and sounds of the county fair are in the air.

Time for residents to show off their skills in raising livestock and crops, as well as baking, canning, photography, art and a host of other talents at the annual Kingfisher County Free Fair.

Events kick off Wednesday at the county fairgrounds with the pedal tractor pull and Farmhand Olympics and continue through the end of the livestock show Saturday evening.

Competitors can also try their hand at a new event this year sponsored by the Oklahoma Garden Tractor Pull Association.

On Friday, Aug. 23, a garden tractor pull contest will take place from 7-9 p.m. at the Kingfisher County Roundup Rodeo Arena for ages 8 and up.

For more information, contact Erin Cash at 405338-5517 or okgtpa@ gmail. com.

“We will have the Farmhand Olympics to kick off the fair and a tractor pull on Friday, which we hope people will come out for,” Kingfisher County 4-H Educator Heather Leitner said.

“We would love to have lots of teams sign up for the Olympics this year.

“Everyone is invited to come have fun and see the exhibits everyone has worked hard on during the past year.”
