Semrad appointed to HPS board
Attorney fills vacancy; another seat determined April 2
Dakota Semrad was unanimously voted as a member of Hennessey’s Board of Education during the board’s regular meeting Monday night, Feb. 12.
Semrad, an Enid attorney and a 2011 Hennessey High School graduate, was not at the meeting.
He will take his oath of office and seat on the board next month.
His appointment came after David Tillman’s resignation in January. There are about four years left on that five-year term.
Semrad, 31, started his own law office in Enid in 2021 after working for another law firm for several years.
He graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2017 after earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2014.
His firm represents clients in bankruptcy, estate planning and other civil litigation.
He and his wife, Terrah, have two children and live in Enid.
Election April 2 for Another Board Seat Semrad’s appointment rounds out the five-person board, but there will be an election Tuesday, April 2, for a seat now held by Amy Charmasson.
She was appointed to the board in February 2023.
Charmasson is filling out the term of Cristopher Choate who resigned in January 2023.
Her term expires this year and both she and Doyle Miller filed for that seat that runs for five years.
Board members present at Monday’s meeting were President Luke Lough, Vice President Patrick Griffin, Clerk Dr. James Matthew Matousek, and Charmasson.
