A retirement party will be held for District 2 County Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Turkey Creek Golf Course clubhouse west of Hennessey.

Shimanek will complete 40 years of service to Kingfisher County – the last 16 years as commissioner – when his current term ends in January.

Shimanek announced his retirement prior to the filing period for this year’s election.

Everyone is welcome, Shimanek announced at Monday’s weekly meeting of county commissioners.
