Smith becomes 5th applicant for Hennessey board of trustees
Mark Smith’s application for the open seat on the Hennessey Board of Trustees was made public Wednesday, July 24, on the Town of Hennessey’s website.
Smith lists his current employer since October 2018 as Mustang Gas, where he is a compressor mechanic.
He, along with the four other candidates, is a registered voter and Smith registered in 2012.
Smith is a past Hennessey volunteer firefighter and said “yes” (as all candidates have said so far) if he was willing to file if trustees decide to call an election instead of appointing a member.
“I would like to help the town move in the right direction, and move forward,” Smith wrote as to why he wanted to serve on that board.
“I am going to do what’s best for the town, and try to find ways to save money for the taxpayers,” he added as to why he “should be considered” for the board.
“I owned my own company for 10 years so I have a business background,” he wrote about the question on “other experience and familiarity with board responsibilities.” Other Applicants
Listed in order of applying are: Frank Patton, office manager at Iron Eagle Resources in Hennessey; Regina Wanzer, activity and social services director for Summers Health Services in Okeene; Tim Riddle is branch manager and vice president of Hennessey Community State Bank; and Michael Grace works on the Kingfi sher County District 2 road crew.
Candidates must live inside the town limits in order to apply.
Applications are on the Town of Hennessey website, or may be picked up at Town Hall.
