Spring stock show starts Sunday
94th event capped with bidders’ feed, premium sale
It’s that time of year again - time for Kingfisher County 4-H and FFA exhibitors to load up their sheep, goats, cattle and pigs to compete at the 94th annual Kingfisher County Spring Livestock Show.
The three-day event held at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds MACenter, starts Sunday, Feb. 18 and runs through Tuesday, Feb. 20.
The goat show kicks off at 2 p.m on Sunday, followed by the sheep.
Monday will feature the beef show, beginning with the heifers at 1 p.m.
The stock show will wrap up Tuesday with the swine show beginning at noon.
Fitting and showmanship contests will also take place throughout the show.
A bidders feed and premium sale will be held Monday, Feb. 26. The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the premium auction will follow at 6:30 p.m. Following is a more complete schedule of events:
Sunday, Feb. 18
9 a.m. - Barns open for sheep and goats 11 a.m. - Goat fitting contest Noon - Sheep and goats in place 12:30 p.m. - Sheep and goat weigh-in 2 p.m. - Goat show (Order: wethers, does, showmanship) 4:30 p.m. (or 15 minutes after conclusion of goat show) - Sheep show (Order: wether, purebred ewes, commercial ewes, showmanship)
Monday, Feb. 19
7 a.m. - Barns open 9 a.m. - Weigh commercial heifers and steers 1 p.m. - Beef show (Order: heifers, prospect steers, market steers, showmanship) 5 p.m. (or 30 minutes after completion of beef show) - Beef fitting contest
Tuesday, Feb. 20
7 a.m. - Barns open 9 a.m. - All swine in place 9:30 a.m. - Weigh cards due Noon - Swine show (Order: market barrows, purebred gilts, commercial gilts, showmanship)
