State champ Okarche Warriors recognized
The Okarche High School boys basketball team was recognized by Reps. Mike Dobrinski, R-Okeene, and Nick Archer, R-Elk City, on Thursday, April 10, in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. The team won back-to-back Class A boys state championships in 2024 and 2025, with 27-4 and 32-0 records, respectively. “It was fantastic to once again welcome this winning basketball team to the House to celebrate their achievement of another gold ball,” Dobrinski and Archer said in a joint statement. “This team has made many appearances at the Big House and with only one senior graduating from the team, their future looks very bright indeed.” Recognized were team members senior Hunter Mueggenborg; juniors Ethan Kirby, Jett Mueggenborg, Cody Endres, Brett Carnott, Macklin Smith, Easton Roby, Colin Hendrickson and Sam Kroener; sophomores Austin Pinkerton, Carter Robinson, Kysen Avila, Ryan Mayo and Grady Terrell; and freshman Court Sumrall; Head Coach Aaron West, Assistant Coaches Brandon Treece and Hunter Frisby, Volunteer Assistant Tony Williams, Student Assistants Asher Schieber and Parker Schieber, Managers Easton West and Chase Parham, Stats Jayme Williams, Bookkeepers Hannah Carnott, Belle Beam and Becky Vogt; Superintendent and Athletic Director Josh Sumrall and Principal G.W.
