Sternberger is rehired as HPS superintendent
Jason Sternberger’s contract as superintendent for the 2022-23 year was unanimously approved by the Hennessey Board of Education Monday night after about 45 minutes in closed session to discuss his re-employment for the second year.
His continued oneyear contract will stay at $136,000 a year.
Benefits include health insurance, travel expenses, expense reimbursement, vehicle reimbursement, current sick leave, transferred sick leave from another district and both the employer’s and employee’s retirement contribution. Sternberger went on the
Sternberger went on the HPS payroll May 24-June 30, 2021, as co-superintendent with retiring Superintendent Dr. Mike Woods.
The early transition date was recommended by Woods, and approved by the Hennessey board in May.
The early start was apparently due to the availability of Sternberger’s replacement as Kingfisher’s superintendent.
That board hired Dr. Daniel Craig May 2.
All members of the board were present at the December meeting: President Dr. James Matousek, Vice President Luke Lough, Clerk Patrick Griffin, Cristopher Choate and David Tillman.
