Stroh earns CTP certification
Kingfisher County Court Clerk Lauren Stroh recently achieved certification for county court clerks through the County Training Program (CTP).
CTP is part of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service at Oklahoma State University and is mandated by state statute and authorized under the Commission on County Government Personnel Education and Training.
After completing a minimum of 63 hours to earn certification, Stroh was honored at the 2025 Annual Court Clerk Conference held in Edmond.
The County Court Clerks and Deputies Association of Oklahoma instituted a certification program in 1998.
Court clerks and first deputies must complete at least 63 hours to receive certification and all other deputies must complete at least 39 hours to receive certification.
The program must be completed within four years and a minimum of six credit hours per year is required to maintain certifi cation in good standing.
The primary coursework for court clerks and their deputies explores subjects such as basic accounting, budget process, personnel management, statute referencing and more.
These courses include basic definitions of expected duties and guide court clerks through scenarios that they will encounter in their field.
Instructors from OSU teach these classes at various locations throughout the state, including on the university’s campuses in Stillwater and Oklahoma City.
In addition to county court clerks, the OSU staff also conducts dozens of classes each year for other county officer certification programs.
Many of the courses, which are usually taught in a classroom setting for 25-50 people, are attended by representatives from each of the elective and appointive agencies in county government.
Some classes are offered asynchronously online, allowing participants to complete the course at their own convenience.
