Sts. P&P Altar Society making plans for annual turkey dinner
The Sts. Peter & Paul Altar Society met in September and in October to discuss the annual turkey dinner that the group has served for well over 100 years.
The dinner was completely canceled in 2020 due to the virus pandemic.
In 2021, the group served the dinner in a modified fashion that provided only drive-thru carry-out meals.
President Paige Kraus led the discussion that resulted in a vote favoring having a complete dinner this year that includes both carry-out and dining room options.
Due to the time frame of having the dinner on Sunday, Nov. 6, when it is traditionally held, dinner chairman Ann Finley divided the work into five groups.
Janice Payne volunteered to do the group chairmen contacts, Paige Kraus will do publicity, Cynthia Eaton will be in charge of bread and dressing, and Irene Garrett will do work assignments.
Food procurement will be done by Finley.
It was decided that all carry-out meals will be adult meals as this expedites the drive-thru service.
The dinner will be held on the first Sunday of November in keeping with the long-standing tradition and to coincide with the opening of downtown for the holiday season.
