local districts in our back-to-school edition later this summer, I did want to point out some of the coaching moves that have been taking place.
Some coaches are staying put but taking on new roles.
Some have moved on and some have moved in.
Some are familiar faces, but just at new schools.
While there definitely can be more changes happening, this should cover most of the moves that have already taken place:
Dover – There has been some rearranging among the Dover ranks as well as a familiar face returning among the changes.
Matt Peck will be the new coach of the Lady Longhorns’ basketball team when the 2022-23 season begins.
Peck was brought on board at Dover last year and coached the fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball teams. He was also an assistant for the Dover girls basketball team under Brett Pitts.
Peck will remain the softball coach.
Pitts just finished his second year back at Dover and will now be the school’s full-time athletic director.
Coming back to Dover for a second stint as the baseball coach is Nathan Nance.
Nance coached the Longhorns for two years before leaving for Kremlin-Hillsdale in 2018.
He’s spent the last four years as an assistant on the Broncs’ football and slowpitch softball staffs.
