February sales tax up for county, 4 towns

Four Kingfisher County municipalities plus Kingfisher County showed increases in their sales tax checks for February.

See chart on Page 13A.

The February 2022 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from December business.

Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.

The monies they reported this period represent sales from Dec. 16 to Dec. 31 and estimated sales from Jan.1-15.

The disbursement of $196,775,118 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $30,582,365 from the $166,192,753 distributed to the cities and towns in February last year.

The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $38,530,409.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $32,413,565 sales tax disbursement and a $7,214,750 use tax disbursement.

Comparisons of February 2022 and February 2021 use tax checks for local entities follow with the February 2022 amount listed first:

Kingfisher – $132,727 and $89,952.14.

Hennessey – $30,913.06 and $34,334.62.

Cashion – $13,900.80 and $13,900.20.

Dover – $4,054.50 and $3,859.70.

Okarche – $23,505.64 and $20,269.38

Crescent – $9,871.21 and $9,245.48.

Kingfisher County – $153,913.70 and $115,293.91.
